On Memorial Day, nine students from LSI Downtown traveled to the Northern Santa Barbara wine country for a picnic at Koehler Winery, a walk around Solvang, and to try their luck at Chumash Casino.
After buying lunch at the Los Olivos Grocery Deli, we all enjoyed eating our sandwiches and salads under the beautiful spring weather in Koehler’s picnic area with Pinot Noir, Syrah, Rose’, and Chardonnay wines. After lunch, students who wanted to try different wines were able to do so in the tasting room, with many students buying wines using teacher John’s 20% discount.
